How often your cat needs to be groomed needs to take into account a few different factors. The breed, age, weight and health. Whether your cat is indoor or outdoor and probably the most important factor, what grooming are you doing at home to assist them with their coat. If mats are forming before your next appointment you need to think about coming sooner between appointments.

Persian/British Long Hair/Scottish Fold – Every 6 to 8 weeks (Dilute coats blue/cream/strawberry blonde/sand are more mat prone to their counterparts black, white and ginger)

Ragdolls/Maine Coon/Norwegian Forest Cats/Siberian – Every 8 to 12 weeks

British Short Hair – Every 12 to 16 weeks

Domestic Long Hair – 8 to 12 weeks (If they are part mix of any of the above breeds they will need to come sooner)

Domestic Short Hair – Twice a year (Spring shedding season March/April/May – Autumn when they shed again going into their winter coats October/November)

V.I.POOCH operates on a one-to-one basis which is a premium grooming service. This ensures that your pet is given 100% of their groomers attention throughout the appointment period. This system can only work if clients bring and collect their pet at the specified times. Your appointment slot includes time allocated to a pre-groom consultation, so that there is no need to arrive early.

Please arrive on time for your appointments. I have a duty to other clients. While I do my upmost to accommodate clients running late, clients arriving more than 10 minutes late will be classed as a missed appointment. We reserve the right to charge the full price of the groom.

Once you have booked an appointment with us it means that we have reserved time in our schedule exclusively for you. When appointments are missed or cancelled without sufficient notice we are often not able to fill the vacancy. Cancellations or reschedules giving less than 48 hour notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the grooming price. No Shows & cancellations within 24 hrs of the appointment will be charged 100% of the booking.

Clients accept that in the case of an emergency – sickness or injury – their pet may require veterinary care and must give permission for Vipooch and its members to seek veterinary care as appropriate. Clients accept full liability for the cost of all veterinary care and will settle any fees directly with the veterinarian involved.
